Our business started in 1969 when Mrs Miriam Ellis opened a drapers shop in Warners End. It was some years later that she and her husband Bruce decided to branch out into nearby Hemel Hempstead. They then discovered an old dilapidated, former off-licence, situated on the edge of town. It took nearly eighteen months to restore and extend it and so Needlecraft was opened on the 28th February, 1980.
The shop is now run by their two daughters, Karen Potten and Julie Mills with the help of ten members of staff. There have been many changes over the years with many crafts added all the time. We offer a huge mix of merchandise, an extensive range of wool, haberdashery, needlework, card making, felting, sewing patterns, dress fabric, bridal fabric, patchwork and craft fabric.
