TENSION 14dc and 18 rows to 10 cm, 4 in, over rows of double crochet on 5mm hook or the size required to give the correct tension. Motif measures 11cm, 4¼in, square to end of rnd 5.
It is essential to work to the stated tension to ensure the correct size of garment and you should always knit make a tension square.

MOTIF
Using 5mm hook and CC1, make 4ch. Join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 5: Sl st across to 2ch-sp, 1ch (does not count as a st), *(1dc, 1ch 2ch, 1dc) in 2ch-sp, 1dc in each of next 12 sts to next corner 2ch-sp; rep from * 3 times more, join with sl st in first dc. 56dc and 4 x 1ch-sp corners.

CARDIGAN
